Foundation Financial Group customer review, fantastic experience!
About 2 weeks ago I was contacted by Foundation Financial Group because I had been working with Bank of America to work on refinancing my current home. I am a guy with fairly good credit, it's not perfect, but I don't get denied for anything. Anyways Bank of America was telling me that it would take 30 days to close my loan and despite my good credit I was working with them for about 45 days when Foundation Financial Group called me. The guy on the phone told me that he usually see's big banks like Wachovia and Bank of America take much longer than promised to close a loan, and he said that since Foundation Financial Group only does mortgages that they would be able to get my loan closed in 15-21 days........ 15-21 days, that sounded a little too good to be true, but since Bank of America was taking so long on my re-finance I decided to try them out just to see what the rate was. I spoke with a guy at Foundation Financial Group for about 45 minutes then he connected me directly with a Mortgage Banker who called me back in 2 hours with a rate that was better than what Bank of America had locked me in at, and they just closed the loan today! today is the 11th of November and I first spoke with them on October 27th, that is literally only 16 days from the first day that I spoke with them.
I am writing this because people need to know that Foundation Financial Group in Charlotte NC is a fantastic mortgage company to do business with. They return your phone calls, they are friendly, and when you speak with them they genuinely believe that they can help you and on top of that they truly work hard to make you happy. After my first contact with them I read some various reports about them on google which made me concerned, but since I have done business with them now, I am SOOOOOO happy I decided to work with them and I still haven't heard from the bum's at Bank of America who promised to do so much for me, shows how much they care!

Awesome video of the new LRX by Land Rover
If you have been watching your Land Rover Google Alerts you may have noticed some great news about the Land Rover LRX going into production!! While I am not 100% sure when and if we will see them I am dreaming of owning one already! At first I thought it was just an awesome new design. We all know that Land Rover makes the worlds most capable 4 wheel drive and also arguably one of the worlds most luxurious vehicles. I have often wondered what a Land Rover car would look like, and if I could even picture Land Rover making a car. In fact I thought about this a lot about two years ago. My gas bill was about $250 a week(I drive a ton) and I was begining to envy Volkswagon TDI drivers. I decided that Land Rover could never build anything less than a Rolls Royce(which is out of my price Range) and instead of building a car perhaps they should begin producing a fuel efficient SUV that can handel like a car and tear a part the highway. Well, only 2 short years later and we see the LRX!
The design of the Land Rover LRX makes me think of an Aston Martin, in fact Aston Martin has designed an SUV that looks a lot like the new LRX, only the LRX looks better! I have been wondering what the interior would be like in one of these things and tonight I found this video on Hulu which settled my curiousity and made me fall in love with Land Rover’s new LRX!! Check it out! In case the video does not work, just go to LROffroad.com and check it out on my home page!

LROffroad.com is leading the way, for Land Rover Off Road Enthusiasts!
Well, needless to say I have had some sleepless nights because I am so full of vision for LROffroad.com that my mind won’t let me rest! For as long as I can remember I have always had an urge to be different, that is actually one of the reasons why I love Land Rovers. After my old Hot Rod I wanted something that could go anywhere, and since a Jeep is so cliché I began my search for a Land Rover! Now my challenge is to figure out a way to create a fun website for all Land Rover Enthusiasts!
I am determined to never sell anything through LROffroad.com, only accept advertising. I do not want to be the guy who says something is great and then asks you to pay here! I want to be the non biased enthusiast who people can trust and enjoy! With all that said, the Good Lord has bestowed a great amount of vision in me for LROffroad.com and I am excited to see what He has in store for our future. I am determined to not become another Land Rover Forum site, although the integration of an online forum may be a benefit to our users, and you may see one pop up on the site in the next month or so!!
I want you to know that when you see the forum pop up on our web site, that we are not trying to be like everyone else. I am in the process right now of reading and learning all that I can to build what I have in my mind for the future of LROffroad.com, but like every good thing in life, it will be worth the wait:)
I hope you all are as excited as I am to see what we have brewing, be prepared to experience Land Rover in an entirely different way on the internet in just a few short months(possibly weeks)!!! Cheers, your friends at LROffroad.com

Back in Action!
So I took a brief trip up to Connecticut for another wedding and have been away from a computer and forced to indulge myself with great Italian food and beautiful Connecticut shoreline! I must say, there is nothing like good Italian food and being surrounded by Italians! The wedding I went to was a big Italian celebration with Lobster, Steak, Caviar(which is nasty), Open Bar, Shrimp, Salmon, Cake, Canoli, Italian Desert Liquor, Cheese Cake, I mean you name it, and I had it! Needless to say I enjoyed myself a whole bunch!
While I was in Connecticut my Range Rover sat at RoverTym where it got a new skid plate built for the front bumper. Which now means that our 1998 Range Rover is ready for the trails, and possibly this week we will be taking a trip to Uwharrie and shooting an off road video. When we finish the video it will certainly be up on our home page at LROffroad.com, Happy Rovering!

a few websites to consider when preparing your Land Rover for some off road action!
You may be considering building your Land Rover for some off road action but are wondering where to begin. In this post we want to share some websites with you that we have found helpful in our search for the best off road gear for our Rover's! First off Land Rover's are a great off road vehicle and out fitting them for the trails can be expensive and while on a trail you could easily break something, so it is important to have a goal in mind. Do you want your Rover to be the most capable 4 wheel drive machine in town, or are you just looking to have a good time on the trails. No matter what you are building your Land Rover for you will find most of the parts you need to modify your Land Rover at RoverTym(www.RoverTym.com). RoverTym is one of the best names in Land Rover off road gear, probably the best name period. Rancho(www.GoRancho.com) is another great source for shocks that can be ordered to fit your desired specification. Shocks are important because after you lift your Rover you are going to want to add some extended travel shocks.
While you are off roading or while you are building your Rover, you may find some parts that could be replaced, RoversNorth(www.RoversNorth.com) is my personal favorite place to get new parts for Land Rover's. You local parts store will look at you funny when you ask them for any part for a Land Rover, but the staff at RoversNorth will take excellent care of you and send you everything you need in a timely manner.
When selecting tires you need to be careful, some mud tires are terrible on the road and some All Terrain tires are terrible off road. The tire that we have found to be the best is by Interco Tires(www.Intercotires.com)and it is called the SS M-16. The SS M-16 tire has been designed for aggressive off road action and suitable on road performance. These tires look great and out perform any tire we have ever had.

Best Tires for on/off road use for a Land Rover
I think we have found the best tire's for Land Rover's for both on and off road usage! We recently had SS M-16's by Interco put on both of our Land Rover's, one set of tires went on our 2002 Land Rover Discovery, and the other went on our 1998 4.0/4.6 P38a Range Rover! Both vehicle's look awesome with these tires on them, and to make it even better, both vehicle's handle great with them on too!! The biggest fear for anyone considering buying a tire that they intend to use off road is whether or not the tire will be good in the rain. I can personally assure you that the new SS M-16 by Interco tire is incredible both on and off road. My first full day with the new tire's on my Range was spent driving in the rain, and the tire performed perfectly. I then took the car into a parking lot to really push um, and see if I could get them to slide out, and it wasn't until I really punched the gas in a turn that I got the car to slide.
These tires are awesome, and we will be sure to post pics soon!, but until then you should check out our website and watch the video of the week then join to leave comments and connect with other Land Rover Enthusiasts!

TaTa Motors refinanced it's loan to pay for Jag Land Rover
It’s official, India’s largest Automotive company, TaTa Motors, has managed to refinance their loan that they used to purchase Jaguar Land Rover from Ford Motor Corp. The suspense is finally over! Mr. C. Ramakrishnan, Chief Financial Officer of Tata Motors, said “This transaction was concluded amidst challenging market conditions in the global credit markets and in the automotive sector. Tata Motors thanks the lending institutions for the trust reposed by them in the performance and outlook of the company.” Well said, and to that we can all share a cold glass of cheer, and be very grateful that our beloved Land Rover brand will continue to remain a prosperous company, despite an economic down turn.
We here at LROffroad.com are glad to see this, we never expected the company to go bankrupt, but in these tough financial times you can never be too certain. The fact remains, Land Rover is a great company, and shall remain that way through out the economic down turn! Happy Rovering to all, and to all a good day! Cheers!

Credit crunch effecting Jaguar Land Rover
Jaguar Land Rover has been in negotiations with the British government who could possibly be guaranteeing a large amount of loans to our beloved Land Rover product line. These negotiations have been in progress for a while now, and it seems the only problem is that the British government wants to gain too much control of the company. The British government feels it owes it tax payer’s the duty of making sure that the tax money is invested properly and that the companies who receive this money spend it wisely. However, in the governments attempt to help “Protect” tax payer’s money they could actually be making a mistake by trying to assume too much control of a company in an industry that they have no experience in.
When considering how to spend tax payer money, why not invest in a solid company who is providing thousands of jobs. Let’s not forget that if thousands of jobs suddenly disappear then the government will no longer be getting tax money from those who used to be working, and those who used to be working now spend less money, and into a downward spiral we go. Jaguar Land Rover is a fantastic company with an ever increasing future. Both companies have some great new products heading into 2010. The 2010 line up for both Jaguar and Land Rover have some of the nicest luxury vehicle’s one could dream of.
Jaguar Land Rover is a healthy viable business. Jaguar Land Rover has been and will remain a profitable business. Jaguar Land Rover made £327 million operating profit in 2007 and £310 million operating profit in the first half of 2008. This is not something that you read about everyday in some news articles. In fact, Land Rover’s real issue is not the fact that they are going under. Companies that fail do not produce profit, and Jaguar Land Rover has tens of years of positive cash flow and employs thousands of proud employees. Jaguar Land Rover is not a failing business, it just needs the British Government to guarantee loans to them so that they can refinance that loan that they took to purchase the company from Ford.

Land Rover and Jaguar in financial trouble? How is Tata Motors dealing with this situation?
There seems to be a good amount of chatter going on about Land Rover and Jaguar being in trouble financially, even mention of the possibility of this major car company going bankrupt. It seems like everyday I read blog’s and article’s spreading doom and gloom, however if you look closely it is clear that there are two sides to this story. The media typically likes to sell doom and gloom, but we Land Rover enthusiast’s like to deal in facts, and make calculated decisions and opinions. In a few days we will be sharing our calculated view on this with you, and you better believe there will be a slight political rant, and some soft praises sung for Tata Motors and how they are handeling this situation…. Stay tuned, this is going to be good!

I watched a movie at a drive in from the roof of my Range Rover this past weekend!
This past weekend I went with some friends to a drive-in movie theatre out in Albemarle, NC and we had a great time watching "Wolverine" "Fighting" and "State of Play". This blog is not about reviewing the movies, even though all 3 were fantastic, it is simply to share another joy of Land Rover ownership!
Here is a pic of the festivities, that is actually my brother and sister, I took residence on my tailgate, and then 3 other friends joined us via chairs and shared space on my tailgate! Now the not so fun person to be around might be saying to himself right now, "You can watch a movie from the roof of any car!" Although this may be true, I am afraid that all other vehicle's wouldn't nearly provide as much pleasure as that of a beloved Land Rover or Range Rover. You see there is something about a Land Rover that all us loyal owner's have come to appreciate! A Land Rover isn't nearly just a fashion statement, or the best looking SUV on the road; it is a capable machine which can take you to anywhere you want to go in the world and get you there in unmatched comfort and style! On this less extreme excursion we were enjoying the Harmon Kardon 13 speaker sound system a little more than the 4-wheel drive, but the tailgate and sturdy roof realy came into play aswell!
We had a fantastic evening and if you are searching for something fun to do with your family or friends, I can definately recommend loading up a Rover full of good people and enjoying a great film from the comfort of your own car! Cheers, Happy Rovering!

How to affordably off road a Land Rover or a Range Rover
Affordably off roading a Land Rover or Range Rover can actually be very affordable. I remember my first Land Rover, it was a 1996 Land Rover Discovery and after watching a few of the Camel Trophy videos on YouTube I was ready to take my Landy in the woods! Now you can see these videos on www.LROffroad.com
It wasn’t long after that I found myself charging down some trails and beginning to “Discover”(Pun intended) just how capable my stock Rover was. A few trips later and I began to discover that I really could benefit from a few modifications, so my search began, and I want to briefly share with you some of the secrets that I have found which helped me make off-roading in my Land Rover more affordable!
First of all you need to know the resources available to you. There are several aftermarket retailers who sell Land Rover parts and accessories for pennies compared to what the dealer charges. RoversNorth is a company out of Vermont who keeps very good inventory of brand new Land Rover parts for every Land Rover make and model. RoversNorth also carries aftermarket brands like ARB, Old Man Emu, SouthDown and several other brands. I actually purchased my ARB Bull Bar from them along with my Old Man Emu 2″ lift kit for my Land Rover. After these modifications I was ready for the trails, then I purchased some TrXuz M/T’s from a friend of mine and my Land Rover was basically complete. After that I purchased some skid plate’s and a roof rack and some other fun things. RoversNorth was an excellent resource for me in the beginning.
After I had purchased all of my gear from RoversNorth a friend of mine called me all excited and told me to come over ASAP, when I walked in his kitchen he rushed me over to his computer where he showed me the website for a company known as “RoverTym Engineering”. RoverTym is the best resource for Land Rover off-road gear. Bottom line is that they produce the best gear and aftermarket equipment for Land Rover’s and Range Rover’s. After finding RoverTym I have purchased everything from them, and they just recently custom built a front Bull Bar bumper for my Range Rover. RoverTym is much different from RoversNorth because they specialize in building parts and accessories to prepare your Rover for the woods. RoverTym doesn’t just sell parts from other companies, they actually hand build everything themselves and the quality and capability of their products is second to none. You can access their website from my home page at LROffroad.com
There are several other resources for you, RoversNorth is great for buying parts(I recommend you ask to speak with Steve Haskel), RoverTym is the best for off road gear, and then you should also be familiar with Atlantic British, Lucky8 llc, and RoverLandParts. You now know everything that you need to in order to get your Rover ready. For additional info feel free to Google the companies mentioned or visit LROffroad.com
Cheers!

Cheers!

Jeep, 4Runner and ofcourse a Range Rover off road at Uwharrie National Forest!
1998 p38 Range Rover 4.6 Off Road at Uwharrie National Forest in Troy, NC!
I had to share this video with everyone, it is from our trip to Uwharrie National Forest. It only took us one attempt to clear all of this, and we did quite well that day! We had a ton of fun driving around with the friends that we made on the trails, we met a cool guy with an 1985 4Runner and then another guy with a 2008 Jeep! Surprisingly we were all running stock suspension. Our Range can't really be considered stock since we did the coil conversion, but we sit no higher than a stock p38 Range Rover while in elevated stance.

Land Rover dominates in Carlton 4x4 challenge 2009
By S.R. Pathiravithana
http://www.sundaytimes.lk/090329/Sports/sp211.html
Land Rover dominated the podium at the Carlton 4 x 4 Challenge held in Tissamaharama. The event was won by Damith Nishanka driving a 1960’s Land Rover Series 2. Damith, a garage owner in Katharagama beat internationally experienced competitors from Colombo. Damith’s drive was the right mix of aggressive, flamboyant, and careful.
His knowledge of the terrain and intimate knowledge of the vehicle gave him victory over seasoned Land Rover driver Indika Sanjaya, who took second place.
Incidentally Indika was placed second at the Malaysian rainforest Challenge in 2006 and 2007. The Malaysian Rain Forest Challenge is considered one of the most gruelling 4 x 4 events internationally.
Both Indika and Damith drove Land Rover based ‘hybrids’ that they had designed and engineered themselves.
The next 4 x 4 challenge is due to be held on the 15th of April at the Lakecross track in Nuwara Eliya. A Land Rover Defender will also be competing in the Truck and Jeep event at the Fox hill Super Cross in Diyathalawa in April.

Newbie enthusiast visits LROffroad.com, The Land Rover Enthusiast's Haven:)
I was in my office near Concord Mills Mall in Concord NC today when I was greeted by a Land Rover Enthusiast who just purchased his first Rover! Like most of us, this mans obession has begun with a 1996 Land Rover Discovery I. I included a pic of my first Land Rover since it is the same year and model that this gentlemen has begun his obesession with. This gentlemen was so excited to see our Rover’s that he actually came in to ask me if it was OK for him to take pictures of them to show his friends:)
Every great vehicle has a great story behind it, and for this gentlemen his story begins with a great deal! He was able to purchase his Land Rover at a great deal since the guy who owned it before him had an angry woman smash all the windows and cut up all the seats….. OK, so maybe that’s not the best story, but you have to admit, it kind of reminds you of that country song where the woman smashes the headlights and carves her name in the seats of her old boyfriends SUV:)
As always, happy Rovering and thanks again for checking into our blog, remember to check out our website LROffroad.com, we recently updated it with some cool new pics of an LR3!

What does Porsche, Mini-Cooper, and Land Rover all have in common?
What does Porsche, Mini-Cooper and Land Rover all have in common? Enthusiasts! This thought came to me earlier today. I was driving past an early 80's Porsche which had been updated to look a bit newer, and then something began to register in my head. Last night on my way home from the office I noticed a Mini-Cooper Motoring Club out at a restaurant, and then today I found myself communicating with a Range Rover google group called Rangie.com. Then it all registered.
When you think Porsche, naturally you think of an incredible racing machine that has been designed and built to perform like a formula one race car on your daily commute to work or a short trip to your vacation home! When you think of Mini-Cooper, your mind probably takes you off to a fun curvy road out motoring around the country side with a small pet and your most fond lady friend:). Then the King of all is the Land Rover, which naturally your mind begins racing through all the possibilities. In your Land Rover you can go off-roading or pull up to the Queens palace. In fact, when you think of Land Rover, it's probably easier to think of your limitations because the list of limitations is far less than the list of possibilities.
The point is that if you were to think of Ford or Chevy then your mind will probably tell you about practicality. When my mind thinks of these brands I think of garbage, I think of cheap cars that just get the job done, and whose vehicle's are completely void of anything that truly excites people. The common thread that is shared between Porsche, Mini-Cooper and Land Rover is that all the companies have built a fantastic product and tailored to a specific customer so well that they have actually created a following of proud owner's who are known as enthusiasts! I hope you have enjoyed this creative and enjoyable rant about 3 fantastic car companies, now don't forget to visit LROffroad.com!

LROffroad's P38 Land Rover Range Rover gets a facelift from RoverTym
LROffroad recently took a trip to see RoverTym who custom built a front winch bumper for our P38 Range Rover. While speaking iwth RoverTym they also turned us onto a great winch made by MileMarker! We decided to go with the 12,000lb winch since we may be pulling more than one Land Rover out of a tough situation:)
It seems like everyone we know who has worked with RoverTym has pleasantly surprised by the high performance of their affordable and reliable Land Rover Off-road gear! In my mind and in the mind of all those I know who has used RoverTym in the past, they are the best Land Rover aftermarket off-road accessories manufacturer's in America.
Be sure to keep checking out our website www.LROffroad.com to see the weekly updated videos and pictures! Also, LROffroad has spoken with a video producer who has been inspired to join LROffroad for some off-road trips and shoot some professional video!

The Land Rover Legacy and Tradition, what no other vehicle has done!
According to LROffroad.com and all of it's enthusiast's, the Land Rover tradition is one of strength and control, Land Rover Owner's appreciate and take comfort in the fact that our vehicle's can literally go anywhere! Land Rover is the only vehicle that is at home in the woods and the Queen's court. Land Rover has always been great at producing vehicle's that can go from the toughest terrain to the most exclusive event. This, the Land Rover tradition, is what few other manufacturer's can appreciate or brag about. LROffroad's "About Us" page on teir website says it best when they say "LRoffroad.com is a web-site designed exclusively for the purpose of connecting Land Rover enthusiasts from across New England and the East Coast.
The site caters to the extremist who drives to work everyday, provides for a family, builds a secure future and occasionally even wears a tie; but deep inside is the fun filled man or woman who longs to blast their luxury SUV through mud, swamps, forests and trails to discover some of the best views God has set aside for those who dare to engage the journey to find them.
I hope you enjoy this creative escape from the office.....To put it simply, this site was built for the guy who has trouble sitting at his desk all day, and every lunch is tempted to take a detour through some woods, and see what wondrous things can be found in the great outdoors!"
To end this blog I had to include an awesome video! Below is an extreme Land Rover off road video featuring a Range Rover, LR3, LR2 and Range Rover Sport at Moab doing some awesome offroading!
