How to affordably off road a Land Rover or a Range Rover
Affordably off roading a Land Rover or Range Rover can actually be very affordable. I remember my first Land Rover, it was a 1996 Land Rover Discovery and after watching a few of the Camel Trophy videos on YouTube I was ready to take my Landy in the woods! Now you can see these videos on www.LROffroad.com
It wasn’t long after that I found myself charging down some trails and beginning to “Discover”(Pun intended) just how capable my stock Rover was. A few trips later and I began to discover that I really could benefit from a few modifications, so my search began, and I want to briefly share with you some of the secrets that I have found which helped me make off-roading in my Land Rover more affordable!
First of all you need to know the resources available to you. There are several aftermarket retailers who sell Land Rover parts and accessories for pennies compared to what the dealer charges. RoversNorth is a company out of Vermont who keeps very good inventory of brand new Land Rover parts for every Land Rover make and model. RoversNorth also carries aftermarket brands like ARB, Old Man Emu, SouthDown and several other brands. I actually purchased my ARB Bull Bar from them along with my Old Man Emu 2″ lift kit for my Land Rover. After these modifications I was ready for the trails, then I purchased some TrXuz M/T’s from a friend of mine and my Land Rover was basically complete. After that I purchased some skid plate’s and a roof rack and some other fun things. RoversNorth was an excellent resource for me in the beginning.
After I had purchased all of my gear from RoversNorth a friend of mine called me all excited and told me to come over ASAP, when I walked in his kitchen he rushed me over to his computer where he showed me the website for a company known as “RoverTym Engineering”. RoverTym is the best resource for Land Rover off-road gear. Bottom line is that they produce the best gear and aftermarket equipment for Land Rover’s and Range Rover’s. After finding RoverTym I have purchased everything from them, and they just recently custom built a front Bull Bar bumper for my Range Rover. RoverTym is much different from RoversNorth because they specialize in building parts and accessories to prepare your Rover for the woods. RoverTym doesn’t just sell parts from other companies, they actually hand build everything themselves and the quality and capability of their products is second to none. You can access their website from my home page at LROffroad.com
There are several other resources for you, RoversNorth is great for buying parts(I recommend you ask to speak with Steve Haskel), RoverTym is the best for off road gear, and then you should also be familiar with Atlantic British, Lucky8 llc, and RoverLandParts. You now know everything that you need to in order to get your Rover ready. For additional info feel free to Google the companies mentioned or visit LROffroad.com
Cheers!

Jeep, 4Runner and ofcourse a Range Rover off road at Uwharrie National Forest!
1998 p38 Range Rover 4.6 Off Road at Uwharrie National Forest in Troy, NC!
I had to share this video with everyone, it is from our trip to Uwharrie National Forest. It only took us one attempt to clear all of this, and we did quite well that day! We had a ton of fun driving around with the friends that we made on the trails, we met a cool guy with an 1985 4Runner and then another guy with a 2008 Jeep! Surprisingly we were all running stock suspension. Our Range can't really be considered stock since we did the coil conversion, but we sit no higher than a stock p38 Range Rover while in elevated stance.
